Police identify, seek suspect in West Valley City fatal hit-and-run

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, May 1, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified, and are still trying to find, the suspect in the fatal hit-and-run incident that took the life of 65-year-old bicyclist John Kinn.

The incident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday on 3500 South near 5400 West. The driver fled the scene and abandoned his vehicle in a nearby parking lot.

According to a news release from West Valley City Police, the suspect is Dylon S. Cooke, a Salt Lake City resident.

Cooke is a 32-year-old black male, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds. Cooke has black hair, which at the time of the incident was worn in medium-length dreadlocks that were tied back into a ponytail.

Investigators have not been able to locate Cooke and are asking anyone with information as to Cooke’s whereabouts to call West Valley City Police at 801-840-4000.
