TOOELE COUNTY, Utah, July 25, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A Salt Lake City man is dead after a rollover accident early Monday morning in Tooele County.

At about 2 a.m., a Honda Civic carrying four people was heading westbound on Interstate 80 near milepost 77 when the driver failed to negotiate a curve, and the vehicle veered off the roadway to the right.

The car vaulted off a dirt berm and rolled, end over end, several times, coming to rest on its wheels.

One of the occupants, 34-year-old Salt Lake City resident Scott Newman, was ejected and died at the scene.

Two occupants were transported to the hospital by air, and one by ground. Impairment is being investigated as a factor.

Newman was the only occupant not wearing his seatbelt.
