Woman suspected of stabbing neighbor arrested, charged with attempted murder

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Nov. 19, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A woman suspected of stabbing her neighbor early Wednesday morning and then fleeing the area has been arrested.

Dyann Hernandez, 23, was taken into custody by Utah Highway Patrol troopers Saturday and was then turned over to Salt Lake City police.

According to an earlier news release from SLCPD, witnesses said Hernandez stabbed the neighbor multiple times.

The assault took place in the area of 800 W. Arapahoe Ave. (650 South).

The male victim was found in front of his home with several stab wounds to his neck, the release stated. When officers arrived, neighbors were administering first aid.

Hernandez had been booked into Salt Lake County Jail on a charge of attempted murder.
