2 confirmed dead after ‘active shooter’ at Texas college; murder-suicide suspected

IRVINE, Texas, May 3, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Two people are dead after an active shooter situation at North Lake College, of Irvine, Texas.

The Irvine Police Department reports that one of the dead people is believed to be the shooter.

Reports of gunshots fired came in at about 11:45 a.m. local time, and students on campus were advised to secure doors and shelter in place. Students not on campus were advised to stay away.

About an hour after initial reports, the Irvine Police Department tweeted that a victim was dead, as was the apparent shooter.

Searches of the campus continued to ensure no threat remained.
