Elephants Sway in Time to Slow Jams at Belgian Zoo

BRUGELETTE, Belgium, June 17 (UPI) — A Belgian zoo shared video of elephants swaying their trunks in time to classical musicians rehearsing for an upcoming event.

The Pairi Daiza zoo in Brugelette said violinists Jean-Francois Chamberlan and Anne Pingen, members of the Belgian Royal Chamber Orchestra, where invited to rehearse in front of the animals while preparing for the upcoming Magical Nights event at the zoo.

The elephants had the most positive reaction to the violins and the zoo captured video of the animals swaying their trunks in time to the music.

Nico Vanhee, a zoo spokesman, said not all of the animals were as into classical music as the elephants.

“The lions didn’t appreciate it,” Vanhee told Buzzfeed News, “and one monkey climbed on the instruments to stop the musician playing.”
