May 26 (UPI) — An Irish veterinary clinic is seeking someone with “cattitude” to fill a crucial paid possession: A professional “cat cuddler.”

The Just Cats veterinary clinic in Dublin shared a job posting on its website with the headline, “Cat Cuddler Needed!”

The clinic said candidates should have plenty of “cattitude” and ideally be “a crazy cat person.”

“We are an equal opportunities employer, however we do discriminate against dogs attending our veterinary clinic as patients,” the posting states.

“The ideal candidate must have gentle hands capable of petting and stroking cats for long periods of time. They need to be softly spoke and capable of cat whispering to calm the nerves of some of our in patients. An ability to understand different types of purring is a distinct added advantage in helping you secure this position with us.”

Veterinarian Aoife Caulfield said the employee’s official title will depend on their skill set.

“We are considering a veterinary intern, a nurse position or a nurse’s assistant and their title will be appropriate to their role,” Caulfield told The Huffington Post. “However, the essence of the job is having a staff member that is responsible for ensuring that our patients and guests have a pleasant experience while receiving their healthcare.”
