An Indonesian passenger plane with 54 people on board is missing in the South Pacific.
A Transportation Ministry public information officer says the Trigana Air Service flight vanished after taking off from Sentani Airport in Jayapurar around 2:55 p.m. Saturday.
The plane was scheduled to land in Oksibil shortly after 3:00 p.m.
Investigators say there was no evidence of a call for help.
Weather in the area was poor at time the plane disappeared with reports of high winds and heavy rains.
The flight manifest showed the plane was carrying 44 adult passengers, along with five children and five crew members.
