MILLARD COUNTY, Utah, Oct. 21, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — Two people are dead after a near head-on collision near Leamington in Millard County Tuesday afternoon.
A news release from Utah Highway Patrol says that at around 5:30 p.m., a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder traveling east on SR-132 near mile post 7 crossed the center line and struck a westbound 2014 Ford F-150 nearly head-on.
“The black Pathfinder rotated once and stopped blocking both travel lanes,” the news release says. “The F-150 spun a half turn and went off the north side of the road and came to a rest by the fence. Neither of the drivers were wearing a seat belt.”
The solo male drivers were the only occupants of each vehicle. They have not been identified pending notification of family.
Impairment is suspected as a contributing factor after troopers reportedly discovered meth, marijuana, and prescription drugs in the Pathfinder.
Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
