SALT LAKE COUNTY, Utah, Oct. 18, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — One person was seriously injured in a collision that halted eastbound rush-hour traffic on Interstate 80 for hours on Thursday morning.

The Utah Department of Transportation first mentioned the crash in a tweet at about 6:35. The post said that the two left lanes of I-80 east were closed in Lambs Canyon, at milepost 136.

Information from the Utah Highway Patrol indicates that a driver rear-ended a truck with a flatbed trailer. The driver who struck the flatbed was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the flatbed, who suffered lesser injuries, was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Two other vehicles were also involved in the crash, the statement says.
