Breaking: 11 killed, 6 wounded in Virginia Beach shooting

VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia, May 31, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Eleven people have been killed and six others wounded after a mass shooting in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The shooting took place about 2 p.m. Friday in Building #2 of the Virginia Beach Municipal Center which servers as headquarters for multiple city operations.

The shooter, described as a longtime public utilities worker, is among the dead, police said. He reportedly fired “indiscriminately” while going floor to floor before being confronted by responding officers.

One of the officers was wounded, but was saved by his bullet-proof vest, according to Virginia City Police Chief James Cervera.

Police teams are in the process of clearing the multi–building complex where dozens of workers are reported to be hiding.
