WEST JORDAN, Utah, Nov. 10, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Two people are dead after being shot late Sunday afternoon at a home in West Jordan.

Officer Scott List, with the West Jordan Police Department, said the owner of the home, at 7133 S. Callie Drive (1520 West), told police he heard gunshots at about 5:40 p.m.

Thinking the gunfire was outside, the homeowner went out to look around. Seeing no one outside, he then opened the door to the garage and found one man dead inside, and another man wounded. The second man later died in the hospital, List said.

“They were guests in the house,” List told Gephardt Daily. “They were legally in the garage.”

He said details about the incident are few, and police are still investigating the relationships between the deceased men and the homeowner.

The names and ages of the two who died are still not confirmed, but List said police believe one of the men was in his 30s, and the other was possibly about the same age.

List said the homeowner is cooperating with investigators.

Gephardt Daily will update this developing story as more information is made available.
