LEHI, Utah, Nov. 30, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Interstate 15 traffic is closed in both directions at Lehi after the rollover of a tanker carrying butane, which is highly flammable, the Utah Department of Public safety says.

“On Saturday, November 30th, 2019, around 10:24 hours (a.m.), a semi with doubles — transporting butane — overturned in Lehi near milepost 282, I-15 northbound,” the DPS statement says.

“One of the tanks is leaking. Both directions of I-15 are closed for the cleanup and evacuation process.

A tweet from Utah Highway Patrol says southbound vehicles will be diverted to State Route 92.

Northbound traffic will be diverted to Lehi’s Main Street, then can take it to 2100 North, where they can reconnect with I-15. The southbound 2100 North ramp is closed.

Gephardt Daily will have more information as it becomes available.

  1. This is an absolute outrage… spending my evening in traffic, the worst I’ve experienced in my whole lifetime… wait 5 minutes, move 10 feet…repeat… All because some impatient truck driver, a tanker, had to drive “fast & furious” down the highway carrying toxic chemicals, & ended up crashing & spilling, losing his load across the highway. The driver needs the full repercussions of the law & community to weigh down on this sort of absolute neglectful and endangering type of behavior…
