OGDEN, Utah, July 15, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — A 71-year-old inmate at the Weber County Jail died Saturday morning from an undisclosed medical event, officials said.
The inmate was in the care and custody of the Weber County Jail when they died from a medical event at 6 a.m. Saturday. The cause of the inmate’s death is under investigation, though it was not self-inflicted, according to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.
“The Weber County Sheriff’s Office extends condolences to the family of the deceased. We also thank all of the staff members and first responders that diligently perform their duties and assist with difficult situations such as these,” the sheriff’s office stated in a news release Monday.
No other information about the inmate or their death was immediately released.
