UTAH COUNTY, Utah, Nov. 12, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 6 has sent nearly a dozen people to the hospital with injuries ranging from minor to critical Tuesday night.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Nick Street told Gephardt Daily the crash occurred at about 7:30 p.m. in the area of mile marker 183 on eastbound Highway 6.

An eastbound passenger van carrying 10 people made a U-turn to head back down the canyon, Street said, and turned into the path of an eastbound minivan.

All 10 occupants of the passenger van, which Street indicated were mostly young women or girls, were taken to the hospital. Nine were in good to fair condition and were transported by ground ambulance. One teen girl was in critical condition and was flown by medical helicopter.

Of the two people in the minivan, one was transported to the hospital in fair condition, while the other was in good condition and was not transported.

One lane of the highway is open in each direction. Drivers are advised to use caution in the area.

Gephardt Daily will update this developing story as more information becomes known.
