TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, Sept. 24, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A pedestrian was killed Monday night when she was struck by one or more vehicles in Taylorsville.

The accident happened at about 8:04 p.m. near 4650 South and 1463 West, Unified Police Department Detective Chuck Malm told Gephardt Daily.

The victim, a female of unknown age, died at the scene. The earliest information released had identified the victim was a male.

“It’s a confirmed fatality,” Malm said. “I believe there were two people, in the vehicle, who were transported to the hospital to be checked out, with non-life-threatening injuries.”

Malm later updated information, saying it appears the victim may have been struck by two vehicles. She was in the street between intersections in a poorly lighted area, Malm said. As of 10 p.m., the identity of the victim was unknown to police, he added.

The investigation is ongoing. Gephardt Daily will have additional information as it becomes available.
