Police investigate fatal shooting in Ogden

OGDEN, Utah, May 19, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police were dispatched on a report of a shooting on 31st Street just before midnight Saturday, and they arrived to find a man unconscious and bleeding from a gunshot wound.

Lt. Tyler Ziegler, Ogden Police Department, said the victim, a man in his mid-20s, died at the scene, outside on the 500 block of 31st Street.

Police have taken an adult male suspect into custody, but have yet to determine the motive for the fatal shooting.

“It was an isolated incident, but it’s still early, it’s under investigation, and we aren’t sure exactly what led up to it,” Ziegler said at 1:45 a.m. Sunday. He had no information as to how many shots had been fired.

Police are not releasing the name of the victim or the suspect at this time.
