KEARNS, Utah, Feb. 28, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police have identified a missing 17-year-old boy found dead in a field in Kearns Wednesday night.
The deceased is Julian Garcia, of Taylorsville, the Unified Police Department tweeted Thursday morning.
“Our deepest condolences to his family,” the tweet said.
Garcia was last seen by friends on Feb. 9 in the area where his body was found, at about 5831 Plumbago Ave., Unified Police Sgt. Melody Gray told Gephardt Daily.
On Feb. 10, the teen’s family reported him missing. On Wednesday, police went to the area where he was last seen.
The teen’s body was found at about 6:30 p.m., Gray said from the scene.
The cause of death was not apparent, Gray said. No information will be available until after an autopsy, she said.
