TAYLORSVILLE, Utah, Sept. 25, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials have identified the pedestrian killed Monday night when she was struck by two vehicles in Taylorsville.

The deceased is Tammy Colton, 47, from West Valley Utah, the Unified Police Department tweeted.

“We believe Tammy was on her way home from work, trying to cross the road from south to north side to catch a bus when she was hit by two vehicles,” the tweet said. “The contributing factor was darkness. It is very difficult for drivers to see pedestrians at nighttime on this stretch of roadway.”

The accident happened at about 8:04 p.m. near 4650 South and 1463 West, Unified Police Department Detective Chuck Malm told Gephardt Daily.

Colton died at the scene. She was in the street between intersections in a poorly lighted area, Malm said.

Gephardt Daily will have additional information as it becomes available.
