Utah COVID-19 Monday update: 3 deaths, 354 new cases in past 24 hours

UTAH, Aug. 3, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Department of Health has reported three more COVID-19 deaths and an increase of 354 positive cases in the past 24 hours.

Those who passed away were:

  • A female, between 65 and 84, Davis County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • A female, between 65 and 84, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death
  • A male, between 45 and 64, Salt Lake County resident, hospitalized at time of death

The three deaths bring Utah’s cumulative total to 314 COVID-19 fatalities.

Utah’s new positive cases bring that total to 41,529 lab-confirmed cases.

The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 435 per day.

The rolling seven-day average for percent of positive laboratory tests is 9.8%

More numbers

Those currently hospitalized for COVID-19 number 207. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak are 2,450.

Utah has performed 540,182 tests total. This is an increase of 3,466 people tested from yesterday.

Patients categorized as recovered, defined as still living three weeks after diagnosis, number 29,967.
