Utah COVID-19 update: 2 more deaths, 329 new cases since Monday

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 16, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) — New COVID-19 numbers released Tuesday show two more deaths and 329 new documented cases in the past 24 hours.

The two patients who died were both men who lived in Salt Lake County and were between the ages of 60 and 85. Both were hospitalized at the time of death, and one had been a resident of a long-term care facility.

Known Utah deaths linked to COVID-19 now stand at 145.

The 329 new positive cases represents a 2.5% increase in the past 24 hours. Utah’s total positive cases number 14,937.

Lab tests performed in the past day numbered 2,762, bringing Utah’s cumulative total to 275,700 tests. Positive tests are 5.4% of the total tested.

Utah has had 1,073 hospitalized COVID-19 patients. The current total is 143, 32 of them new in the past day.

Patients considered recovered, defined as still alive three weeks after diagnosis, stand at 8,470.
