Utah COVID-19 update: 3 more deaths, 346 new cases confirmed in past 24 hours

UTAH, Sept. 10, 2020 (Gephardt Daily) —  The Utah Department of Health on Thursday announced three more COVID-19 deaths and 346 new cases in the past 24 hours.

The Utahns who died were:

  • A Davis County resident, older than 85, a resident of a long-term care facility
  • A Salt Lake County resident, older than 85 and a resident of a long-term care facility
  • A Utah County woman between ages 45 and 64m a resident, long-term care facility

Those three deaths bring Utah’s COVID-19 death toll to 430.

The increase of 346 new lab-confirmed cases brings cumulative positive cases in Utah to 56,019.

Coronavirus tests performed number 703,766. Of those, 5,225 people tested since yesterday.

The rolling seven-day average for positive tests is 381 per day. The rolling seven-day average for percent of positive laboratory tests is 9.1%.

Currently, 118 people currently hospitalized with COVID-19 in Utah. Total hospitalizations from the beginning of the outbreak stand at 3,273.

Patients categorized as recovered, defined as still living three weeks after diagnosis, number 47,545. It is common for patients to die more than three weeks after diagnosis.
