Utah Highway Patrol IDs driver killed in Iron County rollover

IRON COUNTY, Utah, Aug. 2, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — The Utah Highway Patrol has identified the victim in a fatal rollover accident Friday morning in Iron County.

The driver and lone occupant of the car was Daniel W. Haynie, 55, of Parowan.

The accident happened at 4:04 a.m., according to the statement. Haynie, driving a black 1994 Mercedes-Benz, was headed south on Interstate 15. He was close to mile marker 67, near Enoch, when his car drifted.

“The vehicle drifted onto the white fog line, the UHP statement says. “The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, over-corrected, crossed both southbound lanes into the median where the vehicle rolled.

“The driver was ejected from the vehicle and died on scene from his injuries.”
