Amazon to expand sales of Apple products

Nov. 10 (UPI) — Amazon announced Friday it will begin to directly sell an expanded list of Apple products on its website in time for the holidays.

The e-commerce giant traditionally offered a limited stock of Apple products — AirPods, some Beats headphones and the Apple TV streaming device — through direct sales. Some other products, such as iPhones, Apple Watches and iPods, were sold through third-party sellers.

Those offerings are expanding, though Apple’s Echo competitor, HomePod, still won’t be available.

“Amazon is constantly working to enhance the customer experience, and one of the ways we do this is by increasing selection of the products we know customers want,” an Amazon spokesperson said in a statement. “We look forward to expanding our assortment of Apple and Beats products globally.”

In the coming weeks, Amazon will sell the latest iPhones, the XR and XS, as well as the newly released MacBook Air laptop and iPad Pros.

Amazon and Apple are direct competitors across a number of products and services, including virtual home assistants, and streaming television and music.
