March 7 (UPI) — Cookie-lovers enjoying the newest variety of Oreos — marshmallow Peeps flavor — noted some unusual side effects: pink tongues and pink poop.
Twitter users who sampled the Oreos, which came out shortly before Monday’s National Oreo Cookie Day, reported first that the Peeps-flavored cream inside the sandwich cookies turned their tongues pink, then later discovered the coloration wasn’t limited to their mouths.
“The peeps oreos made my poop bright pink,” @Elliegreentea tweeted.
Some users reported particularly severe cases of pastel-colored BMs.
“My roommate ate a whole pack of oreo Peeps and left a pink stain in the toilet,” @Barbeydahl tweeted.
Not all Twitter users were put off by the Easter-themed cookies’ side effects.
“Can confirm that Peeps Oreos turn your tongue & poop pink,” @FreddyInSpace tweeted. “It’s fun. You should try it.”
The excrement excitement evoked memories of Burger King’s 2015 Halloween burger, which came on a black bun that customers reported turned their poop a bluish shade of green.
