Nov. 1 (UPI) — Razer, a company best known for producing computers for gamers, announced the launch of a smartphone with high-level gaming technology Wednesday.

“We didn’t start out trying to make a gaming phone, but rather a phone for gamers,” said Tom Moss, head of Razer’s mobile business, according to The Guardian. “Something you wouldn’t be embarrassed about pulling out in public. And it had to have the highest performance both on paper and in real life benchmarks.”

The phone’s specs include a 120 Hz UltraMotion screen, Dolby ATMOS and THX certified audio, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with 8GB RAM, 12MP dual cameras and a 4,000 mAh battery.

But the phone, which will retail at $700, won’t have a headphone jack. The speakers promise “true-to-life cinematic audio,” according to the Razer website, and are meant to be heard as is. Users who need private sound will have to use a USB-to-3.5mm headphone adapter.

The phone also lacks some newer features found on phone models coming out lately, including wireless charging.

Razer says the phone is designed for people who want a full-fledged entertainment device in their hands.

“It’s the best landscape mode phone, it’s the best audio quality, it’s the best for movies,” Moss told CNet.
