NEW YORK, April 29 (UPI) — A Brooklyn pizzeria developed a delicious and ecologically-friendly alternative to cardboard pizza boxes by creating a box made entirely out of pizza.
Vinnie’s Pizzeria shared a photo of the unique, edible box showing the small circular pizza inside a larger square shaped pizza.
“Introducing The PIZZA BOX PIZZA! A pizza box made entirely out of pizza! No waste, 100% pizza and 100% delicious,” they wrote.
Co-owner Sean Berthiaume told NBC New York that the pizza box, which includes a second pizza, will be available for order and delivery for $40.
He added that the restaurant is still determining how to deliver the pizza without putting it in a cardboard box and have been wrapping it in aluminum foil, among other methods.
“We’re kinda working out the kinks there,” he said. “The intent is to not have the box.”
