NEW YORK, June 20 (UPI) — Domestic diva Martha Stewart, queen of all things DIY, is poised to sell her publishing and licensing empire to a New York-based license and brand management company.

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc. is finalizing the deal with Sequential Brands Group Inc., whose brands include Jessica Simpson and Avia, the Wall Street Journal first reported. Shares of the home-decor company rose 37 percent in two days amid reports of the takeover.

Stewart, 73, started her empire in 1997. In 2004, she spent five months in federal prison for obstructing justice.
