HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 28 (UPI) — A customer at a Krispy Kreme doughnut shop in North Carolina shared video purporting to show large insects falling into the glaze being spread on the pastries.

The video, posted to YouTube by Ashh Nicole, shows black specs getting caught in the glaze being spread on the dougnuts by a machine at the Krispy Kreme store in High Point.

“The black spots you see coming through are BUGS that were crawling on the machine and FALLING into the glaze! The machine had freaking MOLD on the catcher and the employees were touching the floor with the same hands they handled the doughnuts with! One employee even dropped a spatula, picked it up and proceeded to scrape the belt the doughnuts were coming off! After expressing my concern with the supervisor he shrugged me off,” Nicole wrote in the video’s description.

Nicole posted about her experience on the location’s Facebook page.

She wrote the manager “was EXTREMELY rude and nonchalant about the disgusting things his employees had done and actually laughed at my complaint, even going as far as stating that he gets complaints everyday but he doesn’t care about them.”

The store responded to her complaint in a comment.

“Thank you so much for letting us know. We have been investigating this issue and the video. We take this very seriously,” the comment reads.
