Dec. 27 (UPI) — A California company that makes individually packaged salads expanded a recall of its products this week after testing positive for listeria.

The company, Apio Inc., based out of Guadalupe, Calif., recalled Eat Smart Salad Shake Ups single-serve bowls in several flavors, including Asian sesame, sweet kale, tropical lime, avocado ranch, and raspberry acai. Each of the affected products have a “best before date” of Dec. 29, 2018.

The sweet kale variety of the salad tested positive for listeria, but as a “precautionary measure,” the company said it was recalling all products produced on the same day on the same production line as the sample that tested positive.

Apio Inc. said it is not aware of any illnesses linked to their products.

Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headaches, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, convulsions, diarrhea and gastrointestinal symptoms. In pregnant women, the infection can cause early delivery or miscarriage.
