MINNEAPOLIS, June 26 (UPI) — Target announced Friday yet another change in leadership with the planned exit of Kathee Tesija, executive vice president, chief merchandising and supply chain officer, in July.

Tesija is expected to move into and advisory role July 6, the company said.

The move comes almost exactly a year after Target replaced CEO Gregg Steinhafel with Brian Cornell, previously of PepsiCo.

Tesija has been with Target for 30 years and in her most recent position oversaw the company’s signature designer collaborations with the likes of Missoni and Issac Mizrahi, an area that has dulled, Forbes said. Even the latest line from Lilly Pulitzer drew criticism from customers for selling out too quickly.

“During Kathee’s nearly 30-year career at Target, she has earned a reputation as an outstanding merchant and business leader who has been instrumental in Target’s growth and our recent efforts to regain our momentum. Her leadership and countless contributions helped establish Target as one of America’s favorite retailers,” Cornell said in a statement.

“Over the past several months, Kathee and I have had many discussions about the business and together have decided that it is the right time for her to transition to an advisory role. In this role, she will spend the next several months contributing to key enterprise initiatives and ensuring a smooth transition of her responsibilities.”
