LOS ANGELES, Calif., Dec. 21, 2015 — (UPI) — Natalie Dormer recently expressed interest in potential ‘Hunger Games’ prequels.

The 33-year-old English actress discussed her future with the franchise in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Dormer plays Cressida in ‘The Hunger Games’ films, which are based on the Suzanne Collins book series.

“I adore Suzanne Collins for her bravery and her imagination, and everything that is the success of The Hunger Games, the genesis, it all comes from Suzanne,” the star lauded. “She wrote such a complex world and yet at the same time had so many scenes that deal with all the things we’re struggling with with our own time and zeitgeist.”

“I’m just a huge fan of Suzanne Collins and her writing, and I think [producer] Nina Jacobson and [director] Francis Lawrence have both talked about this, but anything prequel, sequel, whatever would have to come from her and her penmanship,” she said. “So the minute I know that Suzanne is writing something, then yes, my ears would prick up. Almost definitely.”

‘Hunger Games’ star Jennifer Lawrence told Variety she “wouldn’t be involved” in any followups last week, saying it’s “too soon” to reprise Katniss Everdeen. Collins previously declared it “time to move on” in a thank you published after the final movie, “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2,” opened in November.

‘The Hunger Games’ films co-starred Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson, and earned a combined $2.88 billion at the box office. Dormer is also known for playing Anne Boleyn on ‘The Tudors’ and Margaery Tyrell on ‘Game of Thrones,’ and will next star in “The Forest.”
