Highway 145 was closed two miles east of the small Colorado town of Dolores for two hours on Mar. 5, due to a nasty head-on collision.

Though two were seriously injured in the wreck, no one was killed.

TMZ Reported Thursday morning, actor Robert Carradine, the star from the cult classic film “Revenge of the Nerds”, caused the accident.

The 60-year-old actor had to be extricated from his mangled 2003 Mercury Marauder after he crossed the highway’s dividing line and struck an oncoming semi truck head-on, according to the Cortez Journal.
Colorado State Patrol Sargent James Saunders said Carradine was issued citations for careless driving and a lane violation.

Saunders went on to say, “He drove right into the oncoming lane. There were no apparent contributing factors.”
TMZ reported Carradine was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital along with his wife, Edith Carradine, their condition has not been released as of this writing.

The driver of the truck was not injured, according to the Journal report.

According to reports, both Carradine and his wife were wearing seatbelts, and alcohol and drugs were not considered contributing factors to the wreck.

Carradine rose to Hollywood prominence in 1984 after playing the role of fraternity president Lewis Skolnick in “Revenge of the Nerds.” Currently the actor is serving as the executive producer and host of “King of the Nerds,” a reality TV competition on TBS.
