July 1 (UPI) — British music superstar Adele announced via Facebook she has canceled her final two concerts at London’s Wembley Stadium because she damaged her vocal cords.

“I have damaged my vocal cords,” she wrote in a message Friday. “And on medical advice I simply am unable to perform over the weekend. To say I am heart broken would be a complete understatement. … I’m sorry I love you I am so sorry, please forgive me.”

Noting she had performed 121 shows since early 2016 for her latest tour, the 29-year-old singer said she considered lip syncing during the last two nights so she wouldn’t have to cancel, but ultimately decided against doing that because, “It wouldn’t be the real me up there.”
