MIAMI, March 19 (UPI) — The home of famous American gangster Al Capone is opening for film and photography shoots upon completion of the the Miami manor’s renovation.

The house was purchased by MB Investors on behalf of a private buyer. The home has gone through a series of renovations after falling into disrepair under multiple owners.

Capone died in the home in 1947. He bought it in 1928, bringing life back to the area after a hurricane devastated the region in 1926.

One of the attendees of the open house was Capone’s grandniece, Dierdre Marie Capone, who hopes to film some of the biopic of her great uncle at the house.

“We were a very close family,” she said. “We ate our meals together, we sang together, we cooked together” in the house.

County records estimate the house to be worth approximately $5.6 million.
