SALT LAKE CITY Dec. 19, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Alan Tudyk has shown audiences a wide versatility in numerous television shows, feature films and on Broadway. Tudyk is best known for his role as Washburn on the sci-fi TV series “Firefly,” starring Nathan Fillion.

The actor is currently heard as wisecracking security droid K-2SO, who joins up with the resistance to fight the empire in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”

“I am excited for people to see it. I play K2SO, a former Imperial droid with a very wry way about him,” Tudyk told Gephardt Daily in an exclusive interview. “The film is ultimately a war film.”

Tudyk also voices rooster Hei Hei in Disney’s animated feature Moana,” and he stars as Del opposite Vanessa Hudgens in the upcoming NBC’s sitcom Powerless,” the first comedy series set in the universe of DC Comics.

Tudyk is also the creator, director and star of the record-breaking web series, “Con Man,” which was fan-funded through Indiegogo. The series received a whopping $3.2 million from more than 46,000 of Tudyk’s fans.

The new series is loosely based on Tudyk’s and Nathan Fillion’s experiences starring in “Firefly,” and centers on the post-show life of Wray Nerely (Tudyk), the co-star of “Spectrum,” a sci-fi series which was canceled before its time and went on to become a cult classic beloved by fans.

Fillion plays Wray’s best friend, Jack Moore, who starred as the series captain and has gone on to become a major celebrity, while Wray hasn’t found real stardom and makes a living as a begrudging guest of sci-fi conventions and comic book store appearances.
