LOS ANGELES, March 17 (UPI) — Warner Bros. Pictures has released the second trailer for the upcoming summer action-adventure, “The Legend of Tarzan.”

Starring “True Blood” star Alexander Skarsgard in the title role, the new footage highlights Tarzan’s origins and how he came to leave his adopted jungle home after marrying Jane, played by Margot Robbie.

Tarzan is forced to return to the wild, however, after the villainous Belgian captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz) kidnaps Jane and holds her ransom. Vine swinging and epic battles with giant apes ensue as Tarzan attempts to save his wife and his former home.

The film also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Djimon Hounsou, John Hurt and Jim Broadbent.

Directed by David Yates, who helmed the last four “Harry Potter” films, and written by Adam Cozad and Craig Brewer, “The Legend of Tarzan” swings into theaters July 1.
