Allison Dayne is an actress, director and playwright. In her newest performance piece called “Scorch,” she shares intimate details of her life as an example to other women with the moral that “no matter how many times you fall, like a phoenix, you can rise again.”

“Scorch” is a one woman show exploring ambition, striving for dreams and what it takes to stand apart from the rest without burning any witnesses along the way.

Featuring works from William Faulkner, Sylvia Plath, Jack Kerouac, Gwendolyn Brooks, Robert Frost and more. “In order to rise, a phoenix first must burn.”

The new play is part of the “Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival,” which promotes unique and original performances.

“The Fringe” will take place in the heart of Sugar House, with all venues within walking distance of 2100 South and Highland Drive. Audiences are encouraged to support local businesses, and receive discounts at restaurants and stores with their Fringe buttons. Artists get the chance to showcase their original work and make themselves more visible in the community.

Fringe festivals have been proven to improve the local economy wherever they happen!
