Amy Schumer Announces Comedy Tour

NEW YORK, March 15 (UPI) — Amy Schumer will embark on a new, standup comedy tour in April.

The 34-year-old actress and comedian announced the news Monday on her website and social media.

“Just announced my new spring tour dates!! Get your tickets this Friday @10AM! Don’t miss it: amyschumer.com/tour,” she tweeted.

Schumer will kick off the tour April 7 in Reading, Pa., and bring the venture to a close June 23 in New York. She will release her new book, “The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo,” on Aug. 16.

“[I realized] about five or six years [into standup I wanted to provide] a voice for women that was palatable for men also,” the actress told GQ in July. “An honest, unapologetic human voice.”

Schumer came to fame on NBC reality competition Last Comic Standing before appearing on Reality Bites Back. She now stars on Comedy Central series Inside Amy Schumer and will appear in the forthcoming film Thank You for Your Service.
