Anna Kendrick Signs Publishing Deal: ‘I Feel Like This is a Great Idea’
The 29-year-old “Pitch Perfect” star will recount stories from her upbringing in Maine to her life in the spotlight in the yet-to-be-named collection.
“We are delighted to publish Anna Kendrick,” said publisher Susan Moldow. “She is the rare entertainer whose impressive arsenal of talents is equally matched by her sharp wit and wry observations about life.”
The star gains increasing notoriety on Twitter for her unique, hilarious voice.
“I’m excited to publish my first book,” Kendrick said in a statement from Touchstone, “and because I get uncomfortable when people have high expectations, I’d like to use this opportunity to showcase my ineptitude, pettiness, and the frequency with which I embarrass myself.”
“And while many of my female inspirations who have become authors are incredibly well-educated and accomplished comedy writers, I’m very, very funny on Twitter, according to Buzzfeed and my mom, so I feel like this is a great idea. Quick question: are run-on sentences still frowned upon? Wait, is ending a sentence with a preposition still frowned upon? I mean, upon frowned? Dammit!”
The actress will star in “Pitch Perfect 2,” due in theaters May 15.
