“Avengers: Age of Ultron”: Second Highest Box Office Opening Ever
May 4, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – The sequel to 2012’s “The Avengers” thundered in with almost $188 million dollars domestically, this is far from the earlier estimates for its opening weekend. And a distance away from the $207.4 million dollars made by “The Avengers” three years ago.
In second place “The Age of Adaline” brings home $6.2 million over the weekend it’s second week out. The romantic fantasy, starring Blake Lively has a grand total of $23.4 million since it’s debut.
In third place it’s “Furious 7” bringing in $6.1 million domestically over the weekend. The film has been in theaters five weeks with a grand worldwide total of $1.4 billion. The film is the third movie to cross the billion dollar mark.
The Vin Diesel / Pal Walker vehicle has proven to be a cinematic juggernaut as Far Eastern movie goers dropped $341 million dollars into the film’s worldwide box office.
