HOLLYWOOD, April 3, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — The producers of “Batman: The Animated Series” are putting the finishing touched on “Batman: The Killing Joke,” an animated movie based on Alan Moore’s graphic novel.

DC Comics and Warner Bros. released an official teaser along with a 12-minute sneak peek showing the evolution of the movie, which is directed by Sam Liu and the vocal talents of Kevin Conroy (Batman) and Mark Hamill (The Joker).

According to ScreenCrush,  “The Killing Joke” is more violent and dark than previous stories, and makes a few changes that should address the issues fans have with Moore’s story such as the treatment of Barbara Gordon. Also the movie will have a new opening and prologue.

“Batman: The Killing Joke” will be released this summer.
