Tammy The Movie

Box Office Bombs

What were the worst films of 2014? Tony Toscano narrows the list down to five movies.

“Transformers: Age of Extinction”

When people ask metransformers “Was the ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ as good as the first ‘Transformers’ movie?” I say, “Yes. Yes it was as good.”

“Transformers: Age of Extinction” is a science fiction action film based on the “Transformers” franchise. It is the fourth installment of the live-action “Transformers” film series and the final installment for Michael Bay to direct and stars Mark Wahlberg in the lead role. It is both a sequel to 2011’s “Dark of the Moon” and a soft reboot of the franchise, the film takes place five years later, after the Decepticon invasion of Chicago. The film was released on June 27, 2014. Despite the poor reviews, the film was a massive box office success, grossing over $1.087 billion worldwide, making it the tenth highest-grossing film of all time, the highest-grossing film of 2014, the second highest-grossing film in the Transformers series, and the nineteenth film to gross over $1 billion.

“Tammy”

Melissa McCarthy is horribly unfunny as a woman who loses her husband and her job as a fastammyt food worker. Then takes a larcenous road trip with her drunken grandmother Susan Sarandon.

“Tammy” is a comedy film directed by Ben Falcone and produced, co-written by and starring Melissa McCarthy as the title character. The film also stars Susan Sarandon, Allison Janney, Toni Collette, Sandra Oh, Dan Aykroyd, Kathy Bates and Falcone himself. The film was released on July 2, 2014. It grossed $6.2 million on its opening day, and $21.6 million in its opening weekend, finishing second place at the box office. Grossing $100,375,432 against a $20 million budget, “Tammy” has become a box office hit

“Alexander and the No Good, Horrible Very Bad Day”
It’s not easy taking a popular kids book and making a children’s film that won’t appeal to any age group! But they did it!alexander

“Alexander and the No Good, Horrible Very Bad Day” is a comedy film directed by Miguel Arteta, and starring Steve Carrell, Jennifer Garner and Bella Thorne. It was released by Walt Disney Pictures on October 10, 2014. In North America, the film earned $5.2 million on its opening day and $19.1 million in its opening weekend, placing third behind “Gone Girl” and “Dracula Untold.”

Nicolas Cage starred in this remake of a Christian film Kirk Cameron did a few years back. The Kirk Cameron version was so much better.leftbehind

“Left Behind” is an apocalyptic thriller film directed by Vic Armstrong and starring Nicolas Cage, Chad Michael Murray and Jordin Sparks. The film was released on October 3, 2014. As of December 2, the film has grossed $13,920,860 domestically and $5,663,000 internationally for a worldwide total of $19,583,860.

“Blended”
In the film Drew Barrymore is a divorced mother who finds herself and her kids stuck on an blendedAfrican safari with a boorish widower and his kids. The film I am sure was just an excuse for Adam Sandler and company to visit Africa for a few weeks and to write the trip off on their taxes as they tacked together a movie.

“Blended” is a romantic comedy film directed by Frank Coraci and starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. In her second appearance in the Worst Films category, Bella Thorne also stars. The film marks the third romantic comedy collaboration between Sandler and Barrymore, following “The Wedding Singer” and “50 First Dates.” The film was released on May 23, 2014. “Blended” grossed $14,284,031 in its opening weekend, finishing in third at the box office.
