LOS ANGELES, Calif., Dec. 23, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — “Star Wars” actress Carrie Fisher has suffered a massive heart attack on a flight from London to Los Angeles, according to TMZ.

Initial reports indicate that Fisher, 60, went into cardiac arrest about 15 minutes before landing.

Twitter user Anna Akana was seated in front of the actress and tweeted that Fisher “was not breathing for 10 minutes or so” and that CPR was administered on Fisher until the plane landed.

The plane then landed in L.A. just after noon, or 1 p.m. Utah time, and Fisher was rushed to a nearby hospital. The actress was in critical condition, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times.

United Press International reported later Friday that Fisher’s brother reportedly said she was eventually stabilized.

Also according to UPI, United Airlines said in a statement that medical personnel met Flight 935 on arrival at Los Angeles International Airport after a passenger was found unresponsive.

“Our thoughts are with our customer at this time,” the statement read.

The daughter of entertainers Debbie Reynolds and the late Eddie Fisher is also an author, who candidly writes about her battles with bipolar disorder and drug addiction, and frequently mines her memoirs for stage shows, UPI said. The star has lately been on the promotion trail for her latest book “The Princess Diarist.”

In addition to appearing in five “Star Wars blockbusters as Princess Leia, Fisher has also co-starred in the films “Shampoo,” “The Blues Brothers,” “Hannah and Her Sisters,” “The ‘Burbs,” “When Harry Met Sally,” and “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.” She reportedly had been in London filming scenes for the sitcom “Catastophe this week and to appear on the popular British television show “The Graham Norton Show.”
