April 15 (UPI) — Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy says the late Carrie Fisher will not appear in “Star Wars Episode IX,” despite a claim by Fisher’s brother that she will.

“We finished everything in ‘[Star Wars Episode] VIII [The Last Jedi]’ and Carrie is absolutely phenomenal in the movie,” Kennedy told ABC News.

“We are so happy we were able to complete shooting ‘[The Last Jedi’],” Kennedy explained, noting Todd Fisher was probably “confused” when he was speaking about his sister’s posthumous inclusion in the franchise past “Episode VIII.”

“Unfortunately … we were well underway in ‘Episode IX’ in our thoughts, [but] we had not written the script yet. But we’ve regrouped, we started over again in January. Sadly, Carrie will not be in ‘[Episode] IX.'”

The actress died in December at the age of 60, days after suffering cardiac arrest on a flight from London to Los Angeles. She has already appeared as Princess/General Leia in five movies.

“The Last Jedi” is due in theaters this December.
