LOS ANGELES, April 27 (UPI) — Charlie Sheen‘s lawyers are reportedly attempting to get a restraining order by ex-fiancee Scottine Ross thrown out.

Several weeks after the order was filed against the “Two and a Half Men” actor, Sheen’s legal team is claiming Ross’ move is nothing but a “publicity stunt” and ploy.

“Ross is simply trying to stay in the spotlight by filing these outrageous allegations against Sheen in a public forum,” Sheen’s attorneys wrote in documents obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.

Scottine Ross, a former pornography actress, filed a restraining order against her ex-fiance earlier this month after The National Enquirer and Radar Online published recordings of Sheen threatening to kill someone.

The Los Angeles Police Department are currently investigating the alleged threats.

But Sheen’s camp claims the temporary restraining order is baseless, especially since the two have not spoken “in over a year.”

“Ross has no evidence whatsoever that Sheen made the alleged threats,” court documents continue. “Sheen has repeatedly disputed and denied Ross’s prior allegations of abuse. More importantly, Ross has not had any contact with Sheen in over a year and has no reasonable basis to seek the requested relief.”

“Ross is banking on the fact that Sheen will pay her millions of dollars to avoid the negative publicity surrounding her outrageous claims. Ross should not be rewarded for her abusive litigation tactics,” the documents said, according to The Wrap.

In December, Ross filed a civil suit against her former lover, accusing him of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment and negligence for hiding his HIV diagnosis during their relationship.

At the time, Ross told People she was scared for her life, outlining such physical abuse as choking and pinning her to a wall. “I remember screaming to him, ‘Charlie, I can’t breathe. Please stop, please stop,'” she told the magazine.

“And he just kept saying, ‘I’m going to [expletive] kill you,’ I remember thinking to myself, ‘Oh my god, he’s going to kill me.’ And I think that was so scary to me because it was the first time I had admitted [it] to myself.”
