LOS ANGELES, Nov. 18 (UPI) — Actor and dad Chris Pratt shared a video of his son for World Prematurity Day on Thursday.

The 37-year-old “Guardians of the Galaxy” star posted the clip of Jack, his 4-year-old son with wife Anna Faris, to raise awareness of preterm birth and support for preterm babies and their families.

“As many of you may know, our son Jack was just over 3 pounds when he was born. Thanks to scientific advances made possible by #marchofdimes funding, today he’s a perfectly healthy, curious 4 year old,” Pratt captioned the video.

“Today is #worldprematurityday. 15 million babies are born #prematurely each year around the world. And 1 million of them won’t live to celebrate their 1st #birthday. The @marchofdimes strives for a world where every #baby has a fair chance, yet this is not the reality for many mothers and babies,” he added.

Faris previously revealed in the March 2015 issue of Redbook that Jack was born nine weeks premature in 2012. She told the magazine the scary experience brought her closer to Pratt, whom she married in 2009.

“I was in denial [at the time],” the actress admitted. “For hours I was like, ‘I’m just having indigestion.’ Chris and I were so scared, but then Jack came out. Even though he was so tiny, he looked so good to us.”

“It’s one of those things that drives you apart of makes you closer,” she said. “I think that being a father is very meaningful and rewarding to Chris. He’s a great dad. He’s a little more serious than he was before. It forces your hand. You really have to become an adult.”

Pratt will reportedly guest star on Faris’ show, the CBS sitcom “Mom,” in 2017. His “Passengers” co-star Jennifer Lawrence gushed about the couple on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” last week, saying they are “so cute” together.
