LOS ANGELES, Jan. 7 (UPI) — “Singin’ in the Rain” actress Debbie Reynolds was buried with some of the ashes of her daughter, “Star Wars” icon Carrie Fisher, after a family-only funeral service Friday.
A private memorial for Fisher was held a day earlier at her Beverly Hills home.
Fisher’s brother Todd was seen Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles carrying his sister’s ashes in an urn shaped like an enormous Prozac pill, People magazine said.
“Carrie’s favorite possession was a giant Prozac pill that she bought many years ago. A big pill,” Todd told Entertainment Tonight after the burial. “She loved it, and it was in her house, and [her daughter] Billie and I felt it was where she’d want to be.”
“We couldn’t find anything appropriate. Carrie would like that,” he continued. “It was her favorite thing, and so that’s how you do it. And, so, they’re together, and they will be together here and in heaven, and we’re OK with that.”
Fisher died at the age of 60 on Dec. 27 — just days after suffering a mid-flight heart attack. Fisher’s 84-year-old mother had a stroke while planning her funeral. She died on Dec. 28.
