SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 1 (UPI) — In order to compete against the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 on Sunday, the Denver Broncos first need to get to Levi’s Stadium in one piece.
The team has luck on its side, after its bus was involved in a minor accident Monday, while on the way back to the team hotel after practice in Santa Clara.
“To keep the day interesting, we have a small wreck,” Defensive end DeMarcus Ware tweeted. “Looks like everyone is ok though.”
Team spokesman Patrick Smyth confirmed that no injuries occurred in the accident.
“The Broncos’ team buses were involved in a minor accident on the way back from practice,” Smyth tweeted. “No injuries were sustained & team is back at hotel.”
The accident involved a California Highway Patrol motorcycle on Highway 101 in Mountain View at 1:47 p.m., north of Highway 237, according to SFGate.com. The team was returning from practice at Stanford University.
Super Bowl 50 media day starts at 8:15 p.m. Monday with the Denver Broncos. The Panthers’ session begins at 9:55 p.m.
The event, which ends at 11 p.m., will occur at the SAP Center in San Jose and air on NFL Network.
