LOS ANGELES, April 18 (UPI) — “Everybody Loves Raymond” matriarch Doris Roberts has died in Los Angeles at the age of 90.
Variety confirmed her Sunday death Monday, but said no cause has been disclosed yet.
The Missouri native was a five-time Emmy winner. She earned her first statuette in 1983 for a guest appearance on the drama “St. Elsewhere” and picked up four more trophies for her portrayal of pushy, but loving Marie Barone on the sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond,” which ran 1996 through 2005.
Her other TV credits include “Angie,” “Soap,” “Barney Miller,” “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,” “The Middle” and “Hot in Cleveland.”
She also appeared in the films “Something Wild,” “Barefoot in the Park,” “Divorce American Style,” “No Way to Treat a Lady,” “A Lovely Way to Die,” “The Honeymoon Killers,” “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” “All Over the Guy,” “Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star,” “Grandma’s Boy,” “Keeping Up With the Steins,” “Play the Game,” “Aliens in the Attic” and “Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protection.”
