‘Finding Dory’ Is No. 1 At The North American Box Office For A Second Weekend

LOS ANGELES, June 26 (UPI) — “Finding Dory” is the No. 1 movie in North America for a second weekend, earning $73.2 million in receipts, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced Sunday.

The long-awaited sequel to 2003’s classic, animated, fish tale “Finding Nemo” features the voice talents of Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks and Ed O’Neill as various denizens of the sea.

Coming in at No. 2 for the period of June 24-26 is “Independence Day: Resurgence” with $41.6 million, followed by “Central Intelligence” at No. 3 with $18.4 million, “The Shallows” at No. 4 with $16.7 million and “Free State of Jones” at No. 5 with $7.8 million.

Rounding out the top tier are “The Conjuring 2” at No. 6 with $7.7 million, “Now You See Me 2” at No. 7 with $5.6 million, “X-Men: Apocalypse” at No. 8 with $2.5 million, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” at No. 9 with $2.4 million and “Alice Through the Looking Glass” at No. 10 with $2.1 million.
